In June 2017, I was awarded a $3,500.00 scholarship from the Charles and Lucille King Family Foundation for the 2017-2018 school year. According to kingfoundation.org, The King Family Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship Program awards up to $7,000.00 to junior and senior level students majoring in television, film, and related fields and who demonstrate academic ability, financial need and professional potential. The scholarship program informed me that from the large number of applications, I was one out of the few selected to be awarded based on my demonstration of "outstanding academic ability" and "tremendous professional potential".
